MicroSociety Academy LPN/LNA- Assistant School Nurse
Under the supervision of theHead of School and school nurse, the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA) provides direct care and support to students with medical or personal needs , focusing on fostering a safe and inclusive learning environment. Direct Report: Head of School
Key Responsibilities:
Direct Student Care:
- Assisting with personal care tasks
- Monitoring and recording vital signs (e.g., temperature, pulse, blood pressure).
- Administering medications and treatments as directed and trained by the school nurse.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Working closely with the school nurse, teachers, and other staff to ensure student well-being.
- Communicating observations and concerns to the school nurse and Head of School.
- Participating in team meetings and staff training.
Maintaining a Safe and Healthy Environment:
- Ensuring the health offi ce is clean, organized, and adequately stocked.
- Adhering to school policies and procedures related to health and safety.
Administrative Support:
- Assisting with scheduling student appointments with the school nurse and external healthcare providers.
- Maintaining accurate records of student health information.
- Assisting in health lessons as needed
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent, Associates degree preferred.
- Licensure: Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA) certification in New Hampshire.
- Experience: Experience working with children in a healthcare or school setting is preferred.
- Skills: Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Certifications: CPR and First Aid certification are required.
- Supervision: LNAs in school settings work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) and Head of School.
