Fourth Grade Quick Info

Students will be given ten minutes each day to enjoy a healthy snack. Students are also permitted to bring a water bottle with them to school. Please be sure your child knows the difference between food for lunch and food for snack.

Students will eat lunch everyday from 11:30-11:55. You may send your child with a packed lunch or you may order lunch through our hot lunch program. Hot lunch service will begin on Monday, September 13th.. You can purchase as many or as few days as you’d like for the month, but purchases must be made in advance.

For new families – please note that we do not have extra lunches on hand, so unless your order was submitted in advance by the deadline, your child cannot purchase lunch on the day of. Also, on most days there are meat AND vegetarian lunch options offered on the menu.  The meat options are on top, and the vegetarian options are below.  Please circle which option you are choosing on the calendar (Friday lunches are always vegetarian – we only serve cheese pizza).

You can drop off cash or a check at the main office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, or Thursdays between 9:00 am – 3:00 pm, but there is also the option to pay via PayPal on the “For Parents” page of our website for a small surcharge.  Just click the “Lunch Forms” tab on that page, where you can also download a PDF copy of the lunch menu to keep at home.

Birthdays will be celebrated in class for each student. As a class, we will sing and sign a card for the birthday child. It is preferred that edible treats NOT be sent in for birthdays. If you do decide to send in an edible treat, please contact me at least two days before. As an alternative, you may send in a non-edible treat for each child and/or donate a book for your child to add to our classroom birthday book bin. Your child will also receive a small gift from me. Half birthdays will be celebrated for those who have summer birthdays. For weekend birthday children, we will celebrate the school day before or after.

Fourth grade homework will begin in October. It will consist of a monthly homework menu. Homework menus will be distributed at the beginning of the month and will be due at the end of the month. Additional home practice will include: studying spelling words, practicing math facts, and reading for 20 minutes each night. The website also has a list of enrichment activities to choose from if you find your child needs more homework. These enrichment activities DO NOT need to be returned to school.
