Job Summary:

MACS is seeking a floating teacher to be a permanent staff member of our unique K-8 MicroSociety themed
charter school. This salaried position is to begin in the 2025-26 school year. This position is intended to cover maternity leave and staff absences throughout the year. Teacher certification in NH is desired. Desirable candidate will have knowledge and experience in the elementary or middle school grades.  Competitive charter school contract complete with benefits package, IRA, Life Insurance, Short Term Disability, and paid time off.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Supports primary teachers in the classroom as needed.
  2. Provides one-on-one and small group instruction to students to support classroom teacher.
  3. Acts as the teacher on staff to fill any long term classroom teaching positions due to medical/family leaves.
  4. Plans and uses appropriate, research-based instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials
    and equipment that reflect understanding of the learning styles and needs of identified students.
  5. Uses assessment data to drive instructional decisions on a daily basis.
  6. Implements daily lesson plans and small group activities, consistent with State standards and current
    research methodology.
  7. Provides students with specific evaluative feedback.
  8. Communicates effectively with students, teachers and parents.
  9. Organizes the educational setting effectively including non-instructional aspects of the classroom.
  10. Substitutes in any capacity as needed.
  11. Performs duties such as lunch/recess/carpool as required of all staff.

 

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university within respective specialty
    curricula field preferred.
  • New Hampshire teacher certification or evidence of eligibility or progress toward teacher certification, is desired.
  • Previous experience teaching or working with K-8 students is preferred.
  • Experienced at differentiating instruction, especially for students with a wide-range of abilities.
  • Willingness to commit to the success of MACS’s students, and to MACS’s mission, and collaborate with faculty as a member of a dynamic instructional team.
  • Keep administration updated regularly on their needs in order to maximize student achievement.
